Welcome to ECAAS
Environment and Climate Change Advocates
E-CASS was established from a simple but powerful belief: South Sudan’s environmental and climate challenges must be addressed through solutions led by South Sudanese communities themselves.
Our organization is formally registered under the NGO Act, 2016, and operates as a national, non-profit organization committed to sustainable environmental management, climate resilience, and inclusive development.
Our constitution is not merely a legal framework—it is the foundation of our identity. It reflects our commitment to women and youth leadership, community participation, environmental justice, and transparent governance.

Climate-Smart Agriculture and Food Security (FSL)
Agriculture is the backbone of rural livelihoods in South Sudan. However, climate variability threatens food production and household food security
E-CASS promotes Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) interventions to strengthen resilience.
Key interventions include:
• Farmer field schools and agricultural training
• Climate-resilient crop production
• Agroforestry systems
• Soil and water conservation
• Sustainable livestock management
• Nutrition-sensitive agriculture
These programs improve food security, incomes, and climate resilience.

Humanitarian-Development-Peace-Environment Nexus
South Sudan faces overlapping crises, including climate shocks, displacement, and conflict.
E-CASS applies a Humanitarian-Development-Peace-Environment (HDPE) Nexus approach that integrates:
• Emergency response
• Long-term resilience building
• Ecosystem restoration
• Peacebuilding and social cohesion
For example, flood response activities are designed to support long-term climate adaptation and community resilience.
